A women’s health clinic is opening in Kutchan Town next year, filling the gap in the local medical service in the area around Mt. Yotei.
The OB-GYN clinic will provide prenatal checkups, treatments for general gynecological diseases and back pain, as well as specialized care toward women athletes.
Dr. Yoshie Nagai decided to open the clinic due to the shortage of female doctors who can offer care for female skiers with anemia and women with menstrual problems in the Mt Yotei area.
According to the doctor, the entire Shiribeshi prefecture, which includes the Niseko area and Otaru, only has a small number of OB-GYN doctors.
