A safety prayer ceremony was held on 23 May for the new Hirafu gondola construction.
The new 10-seater gondola is scheduled to begin operating from 2024/25 winter season, replacing the existing 4-seater lift and increasing the number of gondolas in the ski resort to two.
This year, the foundation work for the gondola’s support pillars and the refurbishment of the power receiving and transforming facility will be carried out.
After the 2023/24 winter season, the lift will be removed and the cableway will be installed, with the construction set to be completed by October 2024.
The gondola will have the capacity to carry 2800 people per hour, which is 1.5 times more than current operating lift.
