Rusutsu Village Looking To Implement Accommodation Tax

Rusutsu Village is considering implementing an accommodation tax.

 

The accommodation tax is a levy imposed on individuals using accommodation within in the village.

Kutchan Town has already imposed the tax, and Niseko Town has also made the decision to implement it.

The village is also considering incorporating a tax incentive program specifically for sightseeing through the “Hometown Tax Donation (furusato nozei)”.

During the regular village assembly, the village mayor explained that generating a new revenue for the village is essential and the village is exploring new methods to secure additional income.
