Some of the major tourism associations around Niseko are betting that MICE Tourism will soon play a big role in attracting visitors.
MICE Tourism stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions and as such is geared toward corporate travellers and group lodgings.
To attract this kind of visitors, the Kutchan Tourism Association and the Niseko Resort Tourist Association have prepared a website called MICE NISEKO that details available Niseko-area conference and meeting facilities (over 20) as well as lodging and programming.
The attractions include group-building activities, special meal plans, white water rafting packages and Japan-centric entertainment like Taiko drum performances, onsen (Japanese hot springs) and even lectures from local entrepreneurs and famous personalities.
MICE NISEKO also details the Niseko region’s accessibility to transportation hubs like Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport and its past experience with large gatherings, such as the 2019 G20 Summit which took place at the Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono Hotel.
One goal of the Kutchan Tourism Association and the Niseko Resort Tourism Association with MICE NISEKO is to draw more visitors during the green season as Niseko continues to expand into an all season resort.
