REAL ESTATE NEWS

Niseko Town has released its fiscal year 2024 budget which includes strong allocations for public and private solar power expansion.

As reported by The Hokkaido Shimbun, JPY18 million (US$119,600) has been earmarked for solar power generation at Niseko town hall, among other public facilities, and JPY24 million (US$ 159,500) is earmarked to subsidise solar installations for residential and commercial buildings.

Last fall, Niseko received a Silver Award from Green Destinations, a Netherlands-based organisation that evaluates the sustainability of global tourism destinations and in 2021 was ranked as a “Best Tourism Village” by the United Nations World Tourism Association in part due to its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) efforts.

Fiscal year 2024 revenue is expected to be higher than in fiscal year 2023 due to the continued economic recovery following the normalisation of borders after the Covid pandemic.
