A memorial exhibition for a local painter is being held in Kimobetsu, Niseko’s neighbour on the other side of Mt Yōtei.
Nobuyuki Shiratori was a painter from the town who died at age 77 last September.
In 2020, Shiratori opened “Gallery Somabito” which is where his memorial exhibition, called “Shiratori Nobuyuki Exhibition”, is being held.
18 works are displayed, depicting landscapes, still lives and people, particularly the late painter’s father.
The exhibition runs from 11am to 4pm Monday to Friday through July 31st.
