Country Inn Milky House is a 13-room cottage near the Annupuri Ski Resort. The family run cottage can accommodate up to 40 guests, and is a great spot to stay year-round.
The owner, Yasuhiro Nishio, has a passion for the outdoors which is evident at Country Inn Milky House. The property has three all-weather tennis courts, and during Summer offers rental bikes, and plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, horse riding and rafting. During Winter it’s a powder paradise, and the staff at the lodge can help you organise ski equipment hire and lessons.
When you want to kick back and relax, there’s a surround sounds theather with a large flat screen TV with English-language satellite channels as well as a DVD library. They also have a karaoke setup for a bit of night-time fun! Internet access is available with wireless broadband throughout, as well as a computer corner with a communal computer.
The lodge also has ski and snowboard storage facilities and a tune-up room. After a long day on the slopes, why not join the owner on his nightly “onsen tour” – Nishio-san will take guests in his shuttle bus to one of the local onsens (hot spring bath) and often will take you to a different one each night so you can have a different experience every time! A soak in the mineral-rich onsen water is soothing and relaxing, and works wonders on aching muscles!
Country Inn Milky House Accommodation
Country Inn Milky House has 13 rooms and can accommodate up to 40 guests at one time. Most of the rooms are Western-style but there are a few Japanese-style rooms that have futon bedding (Japanese-style mattress). All rooms have their own heating/cooling system and a small refrigerator.
A couple of rooms have their own bathroom facilities but most guests will need to use the communal toilets and showers. There are separate facilities for men and women, and showers are available for use from 4:00pm onwards. Families can pre-book a shower time if they prefer.
Country Inn Milky House Location
Country Inn Milky House is located just 200m from the Annupuri ski area, which is about a 15-20 minute drive from Hirafu. If you want to head over to Hirafu or Niseko Village, the owners run a free drop off service each morning after breakfast, but you can always catch the ski shuttle bus from Annupuri if you want to go at a different time.
Annupuri doesn’t have as many restaurant options as Hirafu so you choices are a little limited, but home-cooked meals are provided at the lodge. Nearby Annupuri Lodge has its own bar and restaurant, Lukcy Fingers, if you want to go out locally. Otherwise, catch the bus into Hirafu and if you’re coming home late just grab a taxi back.
