Sena’s name is all about building bonds, and many of its interior spaces have been crafted to facilitate just that. Stepping away from Niseko’s more hectic and crowded villages, Sena is nestled on 5 hectares of private forest land just a short drive from Niseko Town’s main streets. Yours to enjoy are expansive views across the river valley towards Mt. Annupuri, Mt. Yotei, and acres of private forest in between – with grand 4.2m ceilings on the second floor to make the most of it all.
Natural local woods are used throughout the chalet to add warmth, while black metal, silver stone and warm recessed lighting rounds out the sleek, modern design. But Sena is not only gorgeous to look at, it’s also geared to make your family ski getaway as comfortable as possible.
From garage-to-gear-room entry, the ground floor is home to two bedrooms – the child-friendly bunk room is housed cleverly right next door to a separate media room. There is a study nook placed neatly under the main staircase for those that need somewhere to quietly focus. Upstairs is home to the expansive open-plan living/dining area, as well as the master bedroom suite. Here you’ll find a gorgeous feature camphor wooden dining table with seating for eight, a full-feature kitchen and expansive lounge suite, all centered around the feature hanging fireplace – with some armchairs placed perfectly to enjoy both the flames and the stunning view.

The master bedroom is on the second floor, with showcase full-height windows on three sides taking full advantage of the views. The room sleeps two guests in a king-size bed, has additional seating and bedside tables, as well as a large closet for storage. The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, shower and bathtub.

The second bedroom is located on the ground floor, at the far end of the building. Two guests can sleep here in either one king or two single beds. Full-size windows on two sides of the room let in plenty of natural light and views, and the room has seating, closets for storage and an en-suite bathroom with shower.

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Sena is located in the Tomikawa district, just west of Niseko Town, a 15-minute drive from Hirafu Village. Sena’s private forest plot and river bluff location mean stunning and uninterrupted views of both Mt. Yotei and Mt. Annupuri, as well as the Shiribetsu river below. Niseko Town’s main street is 25 minutes away on foot, or a short 3-minute drive: it is a charming and slow-paced alternative to the hectic crowds of Hirafu and Kutchan.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
Niseko’s Annupuri and Niseko Village resorts are the nearest at a 12-minute drive, while Hirafu Village’s ski lift parking lots are about 15 minutes’ drive away. Local buses, trains and a free ski shuttle to Annupuri and Niseko Village resorts all operate out of Niseko Town, which is a 3-minute drive from your doorstep. An undercover garage connected to the dry room makes loading your gear up and driving off in the morning as seamless as possible.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
Central Niseko Town is a quick 3-minute drive away and offers a nice range of restaurant options, including some of Niseko’s most sought-after eateries and cafes – as well as a grocery store and pharmacy to stock up on what you need. All of the Niseko Area’s dining options, especially those you can only drive to, are much easier to get to from here than Hirafu, and Route 5 connects you to Kutchan for all your shopping and nightlife needs.

Discover a distinct winter ambiance and embrace serenity at Sena. This charming 3-bedroom chalet, marked by meticulous attention to detail and modern design, offers a delightful retreat. The enchanting white forest views evoke a fairy tale setting. For added convenience, I highly recommend considering a car rental during your stay at this chalet.

The location is on the outskirts of Niseko Town but those staying here I recommend having a car. The drive through the local area is magic and then when you arrive, you will be pleasantly surprised by the villa. This is my personally favourite and we have stayed in many chalets in Asia but the views are to die for. The quality of materials and design are brilliant and the property has everything you could possibility want and more!! Highly recommend the chalet.

When I opened the image gallery for the first time I found myself saving the photos to my desktop… Sena is the house of my dreams! Fast forward to when I visited the villa and it’s even more incredible in person. The attention to detail is next-level, the setting is so private and I just felt so good inside – the villa has such positive energy. Sena is 20 minutes drive from Niseko United’s ski resorts so you need to feel comfortable driving in the snow or arrange a chauffeur – if you prefer seclusion and absolute privacy, as I do, then Sena is the perfect ski villa in Niseko.
