Sanga House is a modern ski chalet tucked away in an exclusive estate on the outskirts of Hirafu. With four ensuite bedrooms spread across two storeys, Sanga House is the perfect chalet for larger families or groups of friends who want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Expansive vaulted ceilings and wide windows let in plenty of light, and offer stunning views of Mt Yotei framed by forests in the distance.

Sanga House sits in the Sanga Estate, at the far end of East Hirafu, just beyond the lower intersection and traditional border line of the village. Sanga House updates the classic mountain hut look with tastefully unique furniture pieces, light leathers, wood floors and hardwood beams all adding a rustic touch to an otherwise modern design.
The chalet is comprised of two storeys, set in a way that allows the open-plan living and dining area to have expansive vaulted ceilings and maximise stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Most of the bedrooms are upstairs, connected by an upstairs walkway that also looks out over the living room. Besides a full-feature kitchen and separate bar area, the lounge suite in the living area is centered around an ethanol fireplace, that’s cleverly built into the wall so you can enjoy it from inside and out.
Should the weather be mild, you can also enjoy the forest surroundings from the spacious balcony terrace, with deck chairs centered around another external fireplace: a perfect space to create special moments on your getaway.

BEDROOM 1
The master suite is the largest bedroom and sits flush with the exterior windows, allowing for expansive floor-to-ceiling windows to let in plenty of views. Two guests can sleep in one king-size bed, with bedside tables and lamps as well as a small writing desk rounding out the furniture. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, vanity and toilet.

The second bedroom is a master bedroom located on the chalet’s middle floor. It occupies one corner of the building facing Mt Yotei and features a king bed. It has a large balcony and beautiful en suite with shower.

The third bedroom also sits along the upstairs walkway, and lets in plenty of natural light from large windows facing towards the living area. Two guests sleep here in one king-size bed. The room also offers bedside tables, a closet for storage, and a generous amount of floor space. The En-suite bathroom has its own toilet, and shower.

Location
SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Sanga House offers an idyllic location on the outskirts of Hirafu – for those who want to enj0y the peace and quiet of the natural surroundings, while at the same time being just minutes’ drive from all the action and ski slopes of Hirafu. For those who have a car (recommended), Sanga House is halfway between Hirafu and Hanazono, giving you the best of both worlds when it comes to the slopes. Overlooking the Shiribetsu River, and boasting Mt Yotei views, nature lovers will feel right at home.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
While staying at Sanga House you’ll have access to a dedicated ski shuttle that will whip you up to the slopes in a matter of minutes, as well as a weekly grocery trip. If you want a bit more independence, onsite parking is available (on request) so you can take your pick of the slopes of Hirafu or Hanazono, each just a short drive away. Being on the outskirts of Hirafu. Taxis can be hard to book and we wouldn’t recommend you rely on them for an entire trip.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
Within a few minute’s drive from the chalet you will find several fantastic restaurants, including Ichimura Soba – a Michelin guide recommended noodle restaurant. Across the road is the cosy, and budget friendly, Seven Stars Cafe. If you want to enjoy a few aprés ski, you’ll need to head into Hirafu with a designated driver, as there are no bars within walking distance of the chalet.
