Powderhound Lodge is built facing Mt Yotei and has great views of the surrounding village and local landscape from large windows on all sides of the house. It has two living rooms and for those who enjoy an after-dinner family singalong a piano is available for guest use on the upstairs landing, which features sofa seating and opens up onto the living room.

Eight people can be seated at the table in the separate dining area while the fully equipped kitchen – complete with oven, microwave, toaster, blender, kettle, rice cooker, dishwasher and large fridge – will keep any budding masterchefs in the group satisfied.

Guests are accommodated in five bedrooms – two doubles, a Hollywood twin (two single beds together), a twin room and a traditional Japanese tatami room for two people with futons on the floor. Two additional futons are available on request at the time of booking. There are two bathrooms, one of which has a separate bath and shower, and two separate western-style toilets and washroom.

Powderhound Lodge

Powderhound Lodge has truly one of the best locations to get into all the fun and action that Hirafu Village has to offer.

One of the great things about Powderhound Lodge is that the village lifeline – the shuttle bus – has a stop just two minutes’ walk while the lifts are only a five-minute walk on the flat. Perfect!

The village’s famed restaurants and bars are virtually on the doorstep and the convenience store is only a two-minute walk – very important when there’s dinner to cook after an exhausting day on the slopes.
