Visually, Jade Rabbit is a Niseko chalet with a modern, understated look, high-end wood and stone finishes and muted, earthy colouring throughout.
This chalet has two storeys: downstairs is home to bedrooms, laundry, and a dedicated ski room. Jade Rabbit’s ski room connects seamlessly to the entrance – you can go straight in with your boots, set your gear up in dedicated lockers to dry, then change into your indoor shoes and enter the chalet proper. An undercover garage also connects into the ski room, letting you load and unload your gear seamlessly. Downstairs is also home to a Japanese-style bathroom with soaking tub, large enough to share, with separate showers and tranquil forest views.
Though Niseko’s chalets often favor open-plan living, Jade Rabbit stands out with its thoughtful separations. When everyone is ready to come together there’s room for all ten guests on the decadent living room sofas, with TV, gas fireplace and scenic forest views to enjoy. A separate media room ensures there’s no fights over what to watch – or whether to turn the TV on at all. A hallway connects this room to a dedicated dining room, with seating for all ten guests. The kitchen can be fully opened to connect to the dining room, or closed to let the chefs do their thing in private. This layout lets everyone get the downtime they need after a hard day’s skiing – whether together or alone, quiet or loud. Jade Rabbit combines everything a good Niseko chalet should offer: functionality, grace, spaciousness and style, all in a private and secluded cul de sac surrounded by forests with serene mountain views.

The first bedroom is the master bedroom, part of a grand master suite that takes up a full third of the floorplan on the upper floor of Jade Rabbit. This room houses two guests in a generously proportioned king size bed, and opens up onto its own private balcony. The en suite bathroom has its own bathtub and separate shower, as well as a walk-in closet for storage.

BEDROOM 2
The second bedroom is one of four housed on the lower floor, and offers a similarly sized room. Two guests can stay here in either one king size or two single beds, depending on preference. The room has storage closets, bedside tables and nearly full-height windows looking out onto forest scenery. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washstand.

BEDROOM 3
Next door to the second, the third bedroom also offers a similar setup with room for two guests in either one king size or two single western beds, depending on your preference. Also on the ground floor, towards the back of the building, the fourth bedroom offers two guests the choice of one king or two single beds, depending on preference. Next door to the fourth bedroom, the fifth offers much the same setup with room for two guests in either one king or two single beds. Location
SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Jade Rabbit is located in the exclusive Pavillions Estate, located at the East end of Hirafu Village (Niseko’s most famous ski village). Pavillions has cleverly subdivided its blocks to allow for plenty of pristine forest land to remain, ensuring Jade Rabbit is in truly tranquil surrounds.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
Walk 850 metres (around 12 minutes) to reach the 7-Eleven and East Hirafu intersection bus stop: inter-village, inter-resort and free local village shuttles all stop here regularly during the season. You can get in to Hirafu or Hanazono to ski just as easily from Midtown, but a car is recommended to avoid the walk and morning crowds.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
Hirafu’s Midtown area is a short walk from Pavillions. There is a budding restaurant hub by they 7-11 convenience store with Seven Stars cafe and several excellent hot pot options, as well as old favourites Ichimura Soba, Yama Udon and L’Ocanda Italian restaurants all nearby. For supermarkets and pharmacies, Kutchan Town is less than 10 minutes’ drive to both groceries and hardware stores.
