While Niseko is Japan’s premier ski resort, few properties offer the opportunity to experience features of Japanese living such as sitting on the floor to eat or drink on zabuton cushions, or traditional design finishes like wall texturing. The interior décor with generous use of wood finishes and warm colour tones creates an ideal ambience for this cosy ski chalet.

High ceilings enhance the spacious feel and a feature of the chalet is the liberal use of picture windows to maximise light and views. Guests in one of the tatami rooms are treated to expansive views of Mt Yotei. Shoji-style paper and wood framed doors and windows emphasise the spacious atmosphere and Japanese flavour.

A 32-inch widescreen, satellite TV with 6 English channels, multi-region DVD player and wireless broadband guarantee entertainment and communications. Budding master chefs will delight in Ginsetsu’s spacious kitchen, with its clean lines, granite benchtops, modern appliances including 3-burner induction heating cooktop, oven with microwave function, rice cooker, coffee, dishwasher and large refrigerator. Close by in the living area is a family-sized timber table with bench seating.

Gintetsu is located in amongst a collection of other similarly large houses on the border between Middle and Lower Hirafu Village, a short walk from the centre of town.

While the ski lifts are a bit of a walk, the shuttle bus stop is only 100m away, which will have guests on the slopes in no time. A car parking space is available if you would like to hire a car and open up your options.

Being so well situated in Middle Village, Ginsetsu guests are within walking distance of convenience stores and a good cross-section of Hirafu’s famous restaurants and bars. And with the shuttle bus so close the village is your oyster.
