We have just arrived home after a 2 week stay @ the Snow Dog Village. I cannot speak highly enough about the Staff & Accommodation. Their Friendly & Attentive manner would have to be an 11/10 rating from me. From the shuttle service too & from the Ski Lifts each day as well as the Arrival & Departure lift. We had an issue with the Washer & Dryer which was attended to straight away & Repaired on the spot. We are looking at Booking again for the 2025 Season. Well done too all the Staff for making our stay a memorable one.

WOW! What an amazing time staying at snowdog!! The hospitality is incredible. They go above and beyond to help you navigate niseko which isn’t very easy when you’re staying outside of Hirafu. This isn’t a hotel, you have your own unit which we loved. They drive you to the base of the mountain- about 2 min drive. Rooms clean, shower was great and laundry in units- except the laundry soap wasn’t the best, made our clothes smell little funky.

Food things to know- there is a container coffee shop within the village but hours are 12-4. The restaurant connected to snowdog is closed on Tuesdays and you need to make a reservation. There’s a dairy farm shopping area down the street that has a pizza restaurant. Lucky fingers is another restaurant that offered a shuttle service from snowdog. If you’re not eating within those restaurants- maybe a few more, you’re going into hirafu and buses stop at 8pm. Plan ahead and you’ll have a blast!

Great spot quick walk to Banzi chair if you don’t have the staff drop you off there. From there up the gondola from the Hilton, and you can get anywhere. Great kitchen facilities , pots/pans, and plates and glasses. Bring supplies from Kutchan or Sapporo as the shopping up here is akin to trying to piece together a meal from a 7-11.

Spent 4-nights here and had a great experience! Reception representatives are great and super responsive. Not a single issue over the entire trip. Stayed in 2-bedroom that could fit 5-7 people if necessary. Has all the cookware for in-home dining.

There is a bus stop just down the street that can take you into town (Hirafu). About 350 yen one way per person. If you have the All Mountain Pass, it’s free.

Note: this place is not really within walking distance of much. You either need a vehicle or take the bus. People who put this as a “con” should do their research or simply look at a map.

Great place to stay if you want to be away from the craze at Hirafu!!!

My family had a great time staying at SnowDog Village during our holiday. The staff are very helpful from the moment the reservation was made months ago… Mark and his colleagues answered promptly to many questions and requests from someone who had no experience in Niseko. They helped me to select the right, family friendly slope and helped to book the Ski lessons and provided options for ski gears rental.

The reception team (Kellie, Reid and Toshie) was also very friendly and helpful during our stay. The apartment was great… spacious (for Japan standard), comfy, well-heated, clean and well-equipped. Would recommend to ‘stock up’ before check-in as the location is not that near to the nearest town (Kutchan) where big supermarkets are… best if you have a car to get around the area and to go to the ski slopes without having to take the shuttles (can leave all gears in the cars).

If there is one suggestion to make, it would be to have some ‘cooking ingredients’ (like cooking oil, salt, soya sauce, pepper) available for sales at the reception, if not provided in the apartment.

Overall, we had a blast there and we would certainly stay there again if we go back Niseko again! Arigatou-gozaimasu!

As we expected the place is a gem in Niseko for dog lovers…very accommodating and kind staffs…super cozy and quiet atmosphere…as there aren’t any supermarkets or convenience stores nearby you’d better take enough food and beverage to cut back on traveling for groceries and other necessities…all together an awesome experience

The room is spacious and clean. The voices of birds echo through the greenery in the morning sunlight. Winter is probably good, but the forest season is also nice. It’s a hardwood floor, so I think it’s best to bring a mat for your dog. Also, a flashlight and insect repellent spray.

You can spend time with your dog very quietly. The room is clean and the bed is big. The washer and dryer are hidden and convenient. It does not spoil the view of the room. The employees were also very courteous. There were no amenities for dogs, so it would have been nice if it was a little more dog-friendly. There is one small dog run. Because large dogs and small dogs are not separated, you need to be careful when other dogs are around.

We decided to stay at SnowDog and it did not disappoint! They offered a free shuttle to Niseko Village and sometimes they have a free shuttle running to Hirafu. There’s also a bus stop down the street where the Niseko United bus frequently stops. The best part of our stay was the staff, they could not have been more kind!

Anyway, it was a wonderful space, a calm space that felt like home, a quiet space where time passed slowly, and pets were allowed to stay with us, so I was able to spend some relaxing time with my family. The furniture in the kitchen was neatly arranged, and it was a strange kitchen that made me want to cook. There is also a washing machine and dryer, so you don’t have to bring dirty clothes home. You can also buy freshly harvested vegetables at Niseko’s roadside station, which is a great way to soothe your stomach.
