Villa Lily is an expansive and graceful chalet that’s fine-tuned for snow-side living. It is architecturally modern; visually the designers have opted for a light touch: light tan stone tile, warmed by natural wood on finishings and ceilings. Certain feature spaces like the feature wall in the living room and Japanese bathroom are finished in darker stone tile, while bedrooms all add comfort with plush carpets. Recessed lighting helps highlight the key features: the overall effect is graceful, spacious and minimal while still being artfully designed.
Villa Lily has two storeys: downstairs is home to two bedrooms, laundry, dry room, garage and the feature Japanese bath, while upstairs houses an additional bedroom and the expansive living space. This open-plan living area is stunning: there’s a flat-screen TV set in to a feature wall with electric fireplace below. Vast windows on opposite walls let in plenty of natural light and views of Misorano’s tranquil forest. Past the living room you have the dining area, with seating for eight guests and a an elegant, fully stocked kitchen. A neat addition is the bar nook nestled into the corner in this room – with dedicated wine fridge and glass collection letting the sommelier have as much fun as the chef. Just off the dining area you’ll find glass doors leading out onto your private, undercover balcony terrace, complete with furniture. Downstairs, the Japanese feature bathtub has several shower spaces, and a large wood-lined tub with space enough for six guests. Windows gaze out onto tranquil forest scenery, letting you soak in the views and vibes. Whether driving or not, your own dedicated gear room with heated boot racks lets you store your stuff with ease before moving in to the rest of the chalet. Equal parts stylish and sensible, Villa Lily lets your guests flow seamlessly from space to space.

Located on the upper floor, the first bedroom is a master suite that sleeps two guests. Bedding can be arranged in either one king or two single beds, according to your needs. There is a desk area for study, a closet for storage, and windows on two sides of the room showcasing forest scenery. The en suite bathroom has its own washstand, and separate entry toilet and shower.

Located on the ground floor, right next door to the second bedroom, the third houses up to four guests in two bunk beds. The room is divided into two sections, with the beds to one side and a wide relaxation area to the other, with a flat-screen TV and tall windows showcasing the forest scenery. The feature shared bathroom with Japanese-style soaking tub is located just across the hall, as is a separate toilet for convenience.

Villa Lily
Location
SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Villa Lily is located in the upper, mountain-side reaches of Misorano. You can glimpse the Japanese Alps and Happo One’s ski slopes from your windows, while basking in tranquil forest surrounds. Misorano is a largely residential neighbourhood with other lodges, pensions, chalets and holiday homes dispersed among forested streets. Central Echoland is a 15-minute walk from Villa Lily’s front door.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
If driving, you can reach Happo One and Hakuba47’s slopes in under 10 minutes, or Goryu and Iwatake in about 15. Echoland’s main shuttle stop is about 18 minutes’ walk downhill from Villa Lily: doable, but having a car will make things much easier while freeing you up to choose any resort in the Hakuba Valley.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
Echoland is home to a big collection of cafes, restaurants and bars and is a pleasure to stroll through of an evening. At 15 minutes’ walk, you can get back to Villa Lily should you choose to have a big night out. Drive to the station district for Co-Op supermarket, or check out the road between Hakuba Station and Happo for Patagonia, North Face and Snow Peak Land Station, that also houses a Starbucks with excellent mountain views.
