Prominence is a welcome addition to Hakuba’s accommodation scene, part of a new wave of luxury chalets catering to international guests with all the mod cons you could wish for – full kitchens, western bedding and bathrooms, European appliances, and exquisite styling throughout. Visually Prominence takes inspiration from Scandinavian design. Light wood and tile, plush carpets and strategically placed recessed lighting bring a rich, graceful yet warm vibe to each space. Art and photo prints, carefully selected furniture pieces and indoor plants help elevate Prominence above and beyond your standard cookie-cutter modern hotel room.
Downstairs there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs, as well as an expansive dry room with washer and dryer, and a separate ski closet to store your gear for the next day’s adventures. Upstairs, find an expansive living, kitchen and dining area with seating for six, and a gorgeous leather sofa tying the space together. Steepled ceilings give each upstairs room a sense of airiness and grandeur, with full-height windows taking full advantage of the forest views outside. Three bathrooms (two of them en suite) ensure there’s plenty of facilities for everyone.

Location
SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Prominence is located in Echoland, just a block off the main street of Hakuba’s premier dining and nightlife district. Echoland offers a swathe of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from as well as a respectable selection of equipment rentals and retail stores, too. Although Echoland is buzzing in the wintertime, just one street away Prominence is in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of trees.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
Echoland is a central stop on inter-resort and local village shuttles, and the main bus stop is an easy 8-minute walk from Prominence’s doorstep. If you choose to bring a car there’s parking on-site, with Happone, Goryu and 47 ski areas all under 10 minutes’ drive away, and all of Hakuba’s resorts are within 30 minute’s drive from this central location.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
In central Echoland you’re never short of choices for an exquisite meal out – from izakayas to international cuisines, to cozy bars and cafes for morning brunch, it’s all here. Supermarkets and ski slopes are a bit far to walk, but regular shuttles will get you where you need to go and Hakuba’s free on-demand night shuttle is also surprisingly easy to use.
