Powderhouse brings together an entertainment seeking sensibility and a sustainable approach to design and living. The substantially sized chalet is heated by geothermal heating throughout, with clear views of the mountain range from each room.
The ground floor is the social hub of this sprawling chalet. This is where you’ll find not only the living and dining areas (complemented by a full-feature kitchen) but the real wow features of the chalet. The cinema room comes with Apple TV, Netflix and surround sound, with a real cinema-like seating setup. Right next door is the onsen style hot tub with scenic windows only adding to its appeal. The pool table right behind the living areas will make for a fun game night with the group.
There is one bedroom on the ground floor, while the five remaining rooms are upstairs. Three rooms have two singles that can be joined to create a king; three rooms have four single beds each which can also be converted to a king with two singles – meaning there’s room for 18 guests to stay here! While the location is a bit on the quiet end of Hakuba, the free four-wheel van which is included with your rental will make logistics a breeze.

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Powderhouse is located in a more quiet part of the Hakuba ski valley, neighboured by other chalets and picturesque forest. This is a scenic area to enjoy some privacy, without being too far from the slopes or dining.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
It takes a good 20 minutes to reach the lifts on foot, but luckily the property comes with a free van rental, so logistics are made easy. The Goryu and Hakuba 47 ski lifts are the closest at about a two-minute drive. For more variety, Iimori Ski Resor is not too far either once you have some wheels.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
This is a more quieter corner of Hakuba with no dining options within the chalet’s immediate surroundings – unless you’re up for channeling you inner Masterchef in the chalet’s immaculate kitchen! Otherwise, it takes just over five minutes to drive to the restaurant hub in Echoland.
