The Blue River Chalets were newly completed for the 2021/22 season. These two townhouses offer simple, stylish and comfortable digs in a quiet, treelined neighbourhood just off Echoland’s main street.
Each townhouse has an identical layout, with residential spaces downstairs and living areas upstairs. The look throughout is light and airy, with a teal blue sofa suite adding a nice subtle highlight to an otherwise neutral look. Plenty of windows in each room downstairs and upstairs help bring the beautiful outdoors inside, with tranquil woods and nearby chalets making up most of your views.
Feature-wise, everything you need is here: a kitchen fully stocked with appliances, a dry room with own laundry. Each townhouse houses four guests in two bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms for maximum comfort. For additional guests, the living room sofa folds out into a sofa bed to house two more. Combine both townhouses to fit twelve total.

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
The Blue River Chalets are located in Echoland, just a short drive from Hakuba station and Happo One’s ski lifts. Enjoy the vibrant nightlife and Hakuba’s widest choice of restaurants, while still nestled in tranquil native woodland: Echoland is the perfect place to enjoy the best of Hakuba life on and off the slopes.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
Both inter-resort and local village shuttles stop at the Echoland bus stop, a 7-minute walk from Blue River Chalets. These shuttles will get you easily to most resorts in the Hakuba Valley. You can get by without a car, but as the nearest lifts are a 30-minute walk, you might want one for ease and convenience.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
From Echoland’s main street to some choice secluded eateries in the side streets, there’s lots to explore in the area for both food and drinks. Take the village shuttle to Happo village for a change of scene and further options, or head for the Hakuba Station area for more reasonably priced, local-centered eateries.

Blue River Chalets exceeded my expectations and, being in construction and hospitality, that’s hard to do. Floor to ceiling, the finishes are well thought out. The appliances and cookware were phenomenal for a rental and the space worked perfectly for our group.
The location was perfect as well. It’s central to the restaurants and bars without being too close to them and a great distance to all the resorts. Just a 2 minute walk to catch a shuttle as well. We’d definitely try to stay here again when coming back to Hakuba.

The Blue River Chalets are modern, elegant and oh-so comfy. These semi-detached chalets offer everything you need for having a good time in Hakuba, including a stellar location in Echoland: it only takes a minute or two to reach the main dining strip. The chalets are very flexible and cater to different groups.

We just spent 4 days staying at Blue River Chalet. It was such a beautiful and modern property with all the creature comforts any city slicker would crave for in a ski village. Excellent located near the ski slopes and local restaurants, it is a private haven for families or big parties. Clean, and modern furnishings inside the chalet makes it a great retreat after a day of skiing and snowboarding.
Jason is an excellent host, helping us with ski lift tickets, ski equipment, lessons and answering any questions we had. My kids only want to come back to Hakuba if we get to stay at Blue River again.
