Kaku Place is located just off Route 800 (Kitanomine dori), the main road connecting the Kitanomine Gondola to Furano city. From your apartment you have great access to the ski hill, and easy access to Furano City. Finished in 2020, Kaku Place is a stunningly modern apartment building, a welcome addition to Furano’s skyline.
Style-wise, Kaku Place apartments look and feel classy, understated and stylish without sacrificing comfort. The look is light, airy and peaceful, with light wood and linen textures dominating. Well-placed rugs, throws and artworks tastefully complement and add colour to each room. Bathrooms are finished in a light sandy tile. Everywhere, full-height windows make great use of natural light, and showcase views of both Mt Tokachi and the ski slopes.
You can choose between one, two and three bedroom apartments, and every room offers customizable bedding. It’s perfect for couples, friends, families, any group. Each apartment all you need for self-catered apartment living: a full-size, fully stocked kitchen, laundry, plenty of bathrooms and storage space. The master bedroom has its own en-suite, while one bathroom is always placed helpfully to share between living room and remaining bedroom. Bedrooms also have a tasteful table nook for those that need to study or work in private. There is on-site parking that needs to be booked in advance. SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Kaku Place is located just off Route 800, the main road connecting Furano’s Kitanomine Gondola and Furano City proper. It’s a leafy neighbourhood, equal parts residential and resort. The handful of restaurants in Kitanomine are all an easy walk from Kaku Place, as is the Lawson convenience store, and the lovely riverside Asahigaoka park.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
Walk up Route 800 for 600 metres and you’ll be at Kitanomine Gondola. Trains connect Furano with Asahikawa city, while Resort Liner offers buses from Chitose Airport, Sapporo and Asahikawa, as well as other major ski resorts – and the nearest stop is a 3-minute walk to your door. Property management helpfully offers an arrival/departure shuttle to get you to and from Kaku Place.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
Kaku Place is right next door to most of Kitanomine’s dining options: try Kafe Bakushu for pizza, Jurokumon for Soba, or Kitchen Farm F’s Gate for homely and hearty (Japanese style) meals. Or just hit up Lawson convenience store for a quick bite at home. If you bring a car with you, options open up dramatically with all of Furano city’s restaurants, bars, groceries and pharmacies a very short drive away.
