Fenix Furano is set to introduce a new level of world-class luxury to the “secret” powder paradise of Furano. The second largest ski resort in Hokkaido after Niseko, Furano is often compared to Hirafu thanks to its idiosyncratic mix of luxury properties, apartments, dining and of course, world-class skiing.
Fenix Furano is built over 7 floors and features a total of 33 full-service apartments with 1 – 3 bedrooms. New and modern hotel that’s conveniently situated opposite the Kitanomine gondola. This would have been a perfect stay if not for the fact that their concierge Jewel Gomez is totally unresponsive once you’ve booked services through them. We booked ski/snowboard lessons and received no details on what to do on the day of the lesson leading to a 1-hour delay and precious time lost on expensive private lessons. The hotel staff was also unhelpful and we had to sort things out ourselves. Also it’s unbelievable that in this day and age the hotel restaurant does not accept credit cards or ApplePay especially when dinners can cost several hundred dollars. All in all, this could be a five star stay if some kinks were ironed out.

Experienced exceptional customer service at Fenix Furano
Experienced exceptional service here in Fenix Furano. Had a car accident prior to checking in at Fenix Furano, luggage was in the car at the accident site, stuck at the hospital after the accident at about 9pm at night with no transport in sight. Was desperate enough to call the hotel to assist in arranging transport and they responded by sending over their MPV to pick us all up to the hotel.
While at the hotel, I explained to them my situation and they were very empathetic and offered to send me to the accident site to retrieve my luggage! As the car was not in a safe position, I only managed to retrieve partial items. They offered to send us to the nearest convenience store as well to buy food and other daily supplies for our family of six. – Already made three runs within the time. I checked in at the hotel.
Next day, they offered to send us to our planned activities as well within the furano area.
Towards the evening, when we still have not receive news from the tow truck company, I told them that if they are able arrange a taxi for me to go to the accident site to retrieve our luggage and they told me they will send me there again! Long story short, we managed to grab all our belongings from the car wreck that night thanks to their help to send us there while battling a snowing condition back and forth.
Big shout out to the amazing team at Fenix Furano: James, Harrison, Ash, Yuko and many more!

HYUNJUNG PARK –
It was a well-built condo with interior design that made me want to study like a textbook. There was a Korean staff member, so I reserved a room, but the three of us were trying to change beds, and luckily we were assigned two rooms at a good deal. It’s a shame there’s no sauna or hot spring, but you can eat healthy breakfast on the first floor. It’s like a small version of Gonjiam Resort~!! I slept well and comfortably.

Primarily a ski hotel, however operates as excellent place for a summer vacation in Furano area. The positive side is the location (you have the view of literally right next to the ski slope), and the balconies allow you to have a coffee with a great view. The beds were large and comfy, and the showers were hot and powerful.
The negative is their room cleaning service, they do it every two-day, and I found they only changed towels and just left used coffee mugs there.

Staff either speak English or Japanese, but apparently not both! Led to some confusion making various bookings for local restaurants. At least a 30-40 min walk bCk into town if you can’t find a taxi.

Great hotel for family and/or group
My family stayed this hotel for 2 nights. This was our 1st time visiting Furano. This hotel is beautifully located on the top of hill with a nice view of the area’s hills from our room. There is Lawson in walking distance if you need to grab a quick foods or drinks. Our 2bd room was spacious with full kitchen and living room. For American tourists, there is very helpful English speaking hotel staff including the general manager. All staff were very friendly and thoughtful. My family really enjoyed staying at this hotel and would like to return when we have a chance.

It’s a very beautiful hotel. We are very grateful to everyone at the reception for their kind and considerate response! Also, I didn’t have high expectations for the breakfast, but it was very delicious! They provided a wide variety of dishes, including ingredients from Furano.
The room’s interior and furnishings were decorated with many beautiful designer items, making it a very comfortable stay. It was also very nice to have the latest Panasonic washing machine. I would like to visit in winter next time as the Hula ski resort is right in front of me.

Our group of 4 was very comfortable in Fenix Furano’s modern apartments. Great views out across the town and of the ski slopes just a stone’s throw from the main entrance. The rooms are just a few steps from the Kitanomine gondola and there is a cafe downstairs, along with a Rhythm ski shop that offers rental and retail gear.
Super convenient all-round! Would definitely recommend especially if you value comfort.

Second Time even Better!

Perfect combination of style & comfort in an excellent location directly opposite the Kitanomine gondola. The location makes it hard to beat for skiers and snowboarders but we stayed in summer and Fenix was still a superb base. Great views of the ski hill from the apartment, especially if you find yourself on one of the higher floors. Lots of space to relax within with plenty of modern fixtures and features. Highly recommended!

Amazing hotel, fantastic location
Fenix Furano is a phenomenal place to stay. Located just a few steps away from the Gondola station, the best location you can ask for. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, the room was spacious and comfortable for a group of four, including a kitchenette that worked great for breakfasts. The bed was extremely comfortable. Stunning modern property
Recently spent two nights at Fenix Furano and cannot wait to go back. Perfect location right by the ski resort and just a short drive away from the town centre. Lovely spacious apartment with really comfortable beds and good quality furniture. One bedroom apartment with interconnecting studio suite was more than enough space for our group of 5. Excellent communal spaces on the ground floor also, which are great for relaxing or even remote work.

The perfect place to stay in Furano
We have stayed in several accommodations in Furano over the last few years and Fenix is by far the best option available. We had a 1 Bedroom Premier apartment and this was perfect for 2 people. It was modern, stylish, clean, and felt like home.
The bed was extremely comfortable, the lounge area spacious and the kitchen very well-equipped. The balcony was a highlight since accommodations don’t usually offer this. However, it’s best to ask for the city view room as our ski resort view was on a lower floor and we ended up looking into the gondola building.
It is well located being situated opposite the ski resort gondola. This will make it very convenient in the winter season with lift access just across the road. We are looking forward to staying at Fenix again on our next trip.

Absolute comfort, superb location for all season in Furano!
Our 1 bedroom Premier is spacious with efficient kitchen, luxury sofa to relax after a day out and about. The bed and linen is super comfortable. Everything is just perfect! The view from the room is captivating and put you on holiday mood the moment you step in the room.
Location is superb with many restaurants within walking distance, and Japanese konbini at your footstep. While it is at the heart of action, it is very quiet and peaceful.

The new standard in Furano.
Having visited Furano a number of times in the past, I was excited to see the Fenix open for this winter, as previously the hotel selection in the area was lacking character and luxury. Fenix didn’t disappoint with a great location, stylish design and attentive service. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was perfect for our small group of friends. Our unit had great views out over towards the Daisetsuzan range, comfortable bedrooms, and a kitchen and dining area with ample space to invite a few people over. We visited primarily for skiing, and access to the gondola couldn’t be easier. Highly recommended! I am looking forward to returning.

Pricey, but new, and superb access to ski area
This is clearly a high-end luxury accommodation. That said, it’s not over-bearing luxury – the staff are super helpful but relatively hands-off. We stayed in one of the ‘superior’ hotel rooms (5th floor) and it was more like a very small apartment – we had had a small kitchenette, very self-contained. The windows at the end of the room are floor-to ceiling, wall-to-wall, allowing amazing views east towards the Daisetsuzan Range. They also have rooms facing the ski area. If you’re into resort skiing, and don’t mind paying for the newest and very best, this surely is one of the best options right now in Furano. Literally walk across the road and you’re at the gondola. One gripe – would have been nice to see an onsen somewhere in the hotel…maybe even a couple of private onsen? That said, there are plenty of options within short walking distance for a hot soak (natural onsen are all a drive away though).
