Trivia back by popular demand

By 14th August 2009August 27th, 2013

QUIZMASTER Aleisha Riboldi has already set a date for the second Hirafu Pub Trivia Quiz Night at Paddy McGinty’s following the popularity of the last weekend’s event.

Within days of Aleisha’s announcement that she wanted to host a pub quiz, half the town had signed up to take part.

Paddy’s was overflowing with 55 official participants plus a swag of spectators.

Despite the light-hearted nature of the event, competition was fierce with teams racking their collective brains to answer questions like:

What is the world’s most recognised smell?
What was the first product to carry a barcode?
What is the name of the man featured on the Y1000 note?
How high is (Niseko’s most recognised landmark) Mt Yotei?
*Answers below

The quiz night adds yet another event to Niseko’s summer social scene, which is really starting to thrive and help Niseko become a vibrant year-round holiday destination.

Paddy’s owner Roger Donazzan and new part owner Mayumi Kutsumi praised Aleisha’s efforts in organising such a successful community event, and thanked everyone for supporting Hirafu’s only summer pub to help keep it running throughout the off-seasons.

The next night will be held on September 11, kicking off at 7pm at Paddy’s. Take a leaf out of Lambda Lambda Lambda’s text book and get creative for your chance to win best team costume.

Keep an eye on Powderlife’s newly redesigned homepage for details of this and all Niseko summer events, news and information closer to the date.

*Answers: Coffee; Wrigley’s Gum; Hideyo Noguchi; 1898m.
