For those among you who were worried that the powder capital of the world had lost its mojo, I hope today convinced you otherwise.
I took these pictures this morning when there was only a fresh 15cm on the ground, and it continued to dump all day. The snow falls so thickly, silently, and steadily here that it can seem a bit surreal, but it is just Niseko showing us why we chose her.
I hope all you lucky holidaymakers made it up for night skiing, which would have been a glorious swim in the whisper light snow. I fell over on the street today (a regular occurrence) and was completely submerged in the fluffy white stuff, but I brushed myself off and arrived inside completely dry.
My very knowledgeable colleagues and I are guesstimating that about 35cm fell in Hirafu today, so if you wished for a white Christmas then all your dreams are about to come true.
Enjoy your Christmas Eve in powder heaven!
