The Barn Season Opening Party

By 22nd November 2010August 27th, 2013

WHILE not quite ‘The Perfect Day’ that may have been in mind when the event was organised, it was certainly a great ending to what was a beautiful autumn day.

The opening party started with gourmet dinners for those lucky enough to make advanced reservations.

Guests were treated to the French-style food that The Barn is now serving up since Brett, Takayo and Kaz took over the reigns at the beginning of summer. On the menu on Saturday night was Pork Terrine or Salmon, followed by Hokkaido White Fish or Kaz’s infamous Beef Cheeks. To finish, a dense chocolate cake or banana cake and a three-hour nomihodai.

The upstairs bar was packed, and the bar staff were working non-stop to keep up with the thirsty customers.

There was live entertainment by their new 2010/2011 resident musician, KENJAH, who got people grooving with a mix of percussion, acoustic guitars and singing.

Judging by the hung-over faces of people walking around town on Sunday, it was quite successful.
