More than 50 per cent of the second phase of Fenix Furano has sold off-plan despite no international visitors since sales were launched before winter.

H2 Real Estate, lead sales agent for the property, said they were not surprised with the early interest following the success of Phase I.

“There is a pent up demand for high-quality apartments in close proximity to the ski hill,” said H2 Real Estate sales director Paul Butkovich.

Phase I sold out within three months of release and opened last winter

“That’s helped illustrate the opportunity Fenix offers which I’d say has helped drive interest in Phase II.”

Fenix is three condominium hotels in the main street of the Furano Ski Resort.

Phase I is located directly opposite the Furano gondola and was the first ski accommodation built in the resort in the modern Japanese ski era, post 2000.

Phase II consists of two buildings, Fenix East and Fenix West about 50m from Phase 1.

Furano has seen increasing foreign interest in recent years, with a feeling the Central Hokkaido resort could become the next Japanese ski resort to experience significant international investment.
