Snowboard Competition at The Green Leaf Hotel

By 25th February 2011August 27th, 2013

With eight pros, including Johnny Lyall, Kale Stephens, Kevin Griffin plus a few wildcards and the crowd favourite called Ninja, yesterday’s snowboard competition at The Green Leaf Hotel was a good warm up for the Grand Finale concert.

Unfortunately, unlike the two days prior to the event, the weather was a little overcast with a few spots of light rain. Yes rain in the powder capital of the world. However, unusual weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the crowds and the riders.

Outside The Green Leaf Hotel in Niseko Village, a 12-m jump was constructed where riders had to tow in via a snow mobile.

All riders were impressive, to say the least, but winner of the event was a man they call Ninja who almost landed a double back flip for the event’s last jump of the day.
