A new Netflix travel show featuring Niseko premieres to an audience of millions today – following introduction to Niseko by Powderlife.
The hosts and film crew of The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals stayed at 6-star luxury villa Seasons Niseko – a sprawling 5-bedroom villa in the heart of the Niseko ski resort area of Annupuri.
The Seasons Niseko Residence wowed the Netflix crew with huge indoor heated pool, outdoor decks and entertainment areas, eight-seat cinema, fully stocked bar, and a 1000-bottle wine cellar.
Netflix were also treated to the chalet’s full-service hospitality, including their own private celebrity chef Sean Mell – formerly executive head-chef at Hong’s Kong’s renowned Nobu Japanese restaurant.
The theme of this episode featuring Niseko was was “Gourmet Stays” and showcases Niseko’s exquisite local produce prepared by Sean, before the cast ventures out to sample the soba noodles and kaiseki dinner at nearby Michelin-recognised restaurant Rakuichi Soba.

The Powderlife team was twice successful: first at convincing the Netflix producers to include Niseko as a destination; then at proposing several properties suitable for filming.
The producers fell in love with Seasons Niseko at first sight and the show’s stars and film crew started planning their trip to Niseko straight away, visiting in March 2020.
Powderlife Co-Founder and Powderlife Magazine Editor Kristian Lund said this was an unprecedented opportunity to introduce Niseko to a worldwide audience, especially the North American market which is just learning about the world-class skiing on Japan’s northern island.
