Park Hyatt Niseko Residences: A Fine Place to Park

Park Hyatt hotels are known around the world for their selective locations in unique environments, cutting-edge architectural design, attention to detail and high-end finishes.

Every piece of furniture, every fitting and every amenity right down to the bathroom soaps included in its suites are sourced from leading brands in their fields, meticulously hand selected from around the world. There are now dozens of the finest luxury chalets and condominiums across Niseko, but none we believe whose interiors have been crafted with the attention to detail that has gone into the design across every Park Hyatt suite.

Having toured the show suite at the base of the lifts at Hanazono last winter, we decided it needed to be featured in the magazine this year to illustrate the attention to interior design now setting the bar for Niseko ski resort interiors. From a heavy click of the door lock, opening into a hallway decked in timber flooring, with high ceilings and “genkan” entrance to closet doors subtly covered with soft leather, the intent for an atmosphere of understated elegance is immediately apparent.

With Park Hyatt comes a new breed of visitor to Niseko – world travelers who are accustomed to the finest hospitality and luxury travel experiences

Their Niseko suites are inspired by the collection of a sophisticated and well-travelled host. The aim is to make every suite feel like a “refined home away from home”. And certainly it does feel like a home – far from a generic hotel room, the suite feels as though it has been put together in the way someone with a heightened sense of style and sophistication might furnish their own home for daily living.

The design of each Park Hyatt is inspired by its locale. In Niseko, there is an intent to welcome visitors with the warmth of a mountain lodge. There is also a focus on the curation of acclaimed artwork. However, the greatest art work of all in Niseko needs only to be framed by floor-to-ceiling windows – a view of the renowned Mt Yotei, which is available in almost every suite.

Of course, it wouldn’t be supreme luxury in Niseko if there wasn’t a private onsen (natural hot spring) bath included in most suites, opening off the master bedrooms and living areas. The importance of “wellness” was essential for the development, and naturally sourced hot spring water was secured to ensure owners and guests were able to enjoy quality onsen water.

Fortunately for those who haven’t been able to secure a suite of their own, Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono will open in winter 2019.
