The above freezing temperatures and high winds forecast for today (Thursday 30 January) materialised, but thankfully they weren’t accompanied by rain.
Visitors in from Whistler, Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the United States commented on conditions very similar to what they’re used to, and heavy powder and polished pistes were the order of the day on the lower slopes of the Niseko Resort Area.
Heavy, wet snow fell late afternoon and temperatures are back below freezing.
It’s snowing at the moment and lighter winds and snowfall are forecast for Friday 31 January.
Hopefully the upper lifts will run and the best conditions will be up high particularly in Niseko Moiwa and Niseko Village.
