Niseko Snow Report & Forecast 21 December 2014

By 21st December 2014Niseko Snow Report

It was a rough day out there! Yesterday’s heavy rain followed by today’s cold temperatures created very icy roads and a crust layer at lower elevations on the mountains. Riders found some pow in the trees higher up, but mostly were frustrated by the inescapable crust lower down.

Some snow fell today mostly at higher elevations, but riders were unable to reach it due to upper lift closures through all of Niseko United.

Conditions should improve overnight with moderate snowfall expected to continue and lows of -9 C.
Five lifts are currently operating for tonight’s night ski. Could increase to six but Annupuri’s Jumbo Quad was temporarily suspended at time of writing.

New snow in last 24 hours: 7 cm
Total snow at base: 90 cm
Temperature: -9 C
