REAL ESTATE NEWS
A new development called Niseko Mirai has begun accepting applications for its initial eight wooden condominiums.
Niseko Miria is an eco-friendly development funded in part by the town of Niseko as a Machizukuri (neighbourhood-making) project, a kind of community development process that involves local communities in the decision making.
As The Hokkaido Shimbun reports, the eight condominiums include four 77sqm 2LDK units that will be sold for JPY54 – 57 million (US$363,943 – 384,162) and four 97sqm 3LDK units that will be sold for JPY60 – 64 million (US$404,381 – 451,559).
All units contain advanced environmental features, like high tech insulation, solar power generation and arrangements to receive what outside power is needed from green power sources.
The annual electricity expenditure per unit is expected to be around 50% of a typical electric house in Hokkaido.
To apply, visit the Niseko Mirai website. The houses are expected to be completed in December 2025.
