The first new high-speed gondolas are currently being installed in Hirafu and with just over one month to go until the official opening, work is making good progress.
Owner and operator Tokyu Inc confirmed that the eight-person gondola would travel at speeds of up to 6m/second, getting you up Mt Annupuri in just five minutes as opposed to the eight minutes the previous four-person gondola took.
This addition to the mountain is another reason to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of Hirafu resort.
The opening ceremony for the gondolas will be held on December 10 at Grand Hirafu and the 50th anniversary party for the resort takes place December 17. Prepare for a string of related events and parties in the weeks that follow!
