Mizuno no Sawa is the area of extreme terrain under the Niseko Gondola which is marked as ‘Avalanche Control Operation Area.’ Niseko Village ski patrol have been working on avalanche control measures in Mizuno no Sawa for many years. In order to increase avalanche awareness and safety, this education program has been introduced. Access to this area is limited and only authorized skiers and snowboarders are permitted to enter Mizuno no Sawa under ski patrol’s supervision.
Mizuno no Sawa Programme is a lecture based programme consisting of a 10min lecture indoor with a slide show followed by actual skiing/riding in Mizuno no Sawa under ski patrol’s supervision.
