As Japan experiences record numbers of inbound arrivals, its major airlines and partner carriers are racing to accommodate their customers.

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, announced on 10 April that beginning this summer complimentary in-flight internet access will be available for its international-flight business class passengers.

This is a continuation of ANA’s wifi rollout, which began in 2014 and now includes complimentary wifi for international-flight first class passengers and on all domestic flights regardless of class.

Texting through the ANA in-flight service will become complimentary to international-flight premium economy and economy passengers by March of 2025.

Japan Airlines (JAL) announced earlier this year that its joint business partner American Airlines will offer new nonstop service from New York’s JFK to Tokyo Haneda beginning on 28 June 2024, becoming the sole U.S. carrier to fly between the two cities.

The new New York – Tokyo service will be the 12th connection operated by the two airlines between eight U.S. cities and Tokyo Haneda, Narita and Osaka’s Kansai International Airports, reflecting the increased tourism from North American to Japan.
