International-Brand Hotels Leading Niseko into the Future

A wave of international-brand hotel projects is coming to Niseko, pointing towards a bright future for the international tourism potential of the holiday resort.

Following the opening of Park Hyatt this year, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is under construction and will open on the slopes of Niseko Village next winter – see one of the first images released pictured. Owner YTL Resorts also has plans for W, Edition and Moxy hotels.

Infrastructure works have been carried out at the site of the Aman Hotel and Residences at the base of the Moiwa Ski Resort, with a Marriott Hotel also planned for the resort. On the other side of Niseko at Hanazono, a Capella Hotel & Residence project is in early planning stages. Como Group appears to be planning a ski-in/ski-out project on a block of land on Hirafu’s premier street, Hirafu Zaka. We can confirm Four Seasons, Banyan Tree and Six Senses have all been making inquiries in Niseko.

It’s interesting to note that it was less than 10 years ago the first international brand hotel opened at the Hilton Niseko Village. It looks like there are almost a dozen more that should roll out over the coming decade. That will surely change the face of the resort and further solidify its renown as one of the world’s favourite new holiday destinations.
