Holy Japow Batman

By 6th January 2011August 27th, 2013

NISEKO opened the powder taps yesterday, and it’s been running full strength ever since.

Forty-plus centimetres fell overnight, and probably close to that has fallen throughout the day. This huge dumping of snow, which is generally a regular occurrence in this area, should finally bury the last of the bamboo poking through the sides of the trails.

It’s not all good-news though, visibility was quite low and strong winds limited access within the resort, shutting and slowing lift operation in higher areas.

Backcountry access gates remain shut, at least until this storm clears. For more information see http://niseko.nadare.info/
