In the wake of the March 2011 earthquake and subsequent tsunami, Hokkaido Tracks announced their support of the ‘Protect Fukushima Kids’ campaign designed to raise funds for a range of initiatives in support of the children and families in the Fukushima disaster area.
Hokkaido Tracks Holidays will contribute 100 yen for every person that books with them over 2011/12 season (01 may 2011 to 30 April 2012)
The funds will go towards a collective of initiatives including:
1. Financial assistance to families in Fukushima, who have lost their homes and jobs or been forced to relocate to evacuation shelters
2. Temporary relocation programs – provide an opportunity for children and parents in Fukushima to be relocated to Hokkaido and other areas for extended summer and winter holidays
