HANAZONO’S STRAIGHT JUMP COMPETITION KICKS OFF

By 24th February 2012August 27th, 2013

If you’ve missed out on the atmosphere at the Toyota Big Air a couple of weeks ago, head out to Hanazono for its Straight Jump competition on Saturday, February 25.

The Straight Jump is a “one make” jump event, similar to the Big Air, but on a smaller scale.

The competition is part of the monthly Freestyle Series, with skiers and snowboarders trying to land the most technical/stylish trick on a specially made kicker in the Hanazono Main Park.

The Monthly Freestyle Series has been held in Hanazono for the last three years and has grown in popularity. Expect to see great tricks from sponsored Japanese local skiers and riders, as well as some international competitors. Prizes include Burton bindings, K2 helmets and Oakley googles. Entry fee is ¥2000 in advance and ¥3000 on the day.
