Corniche is a spectacular new development in Middle Hirafu – five unique, staggered residences cantilevered into a precipice overlooking a stream and forested hillside on the eastern border of the village, each with private onsen.
The boutique onsen estate designed by Riccardo Tossani Architecture includes parkland with remnant shirakaba (silver birch) trees and other geographical features preserved and celebrated.
At ground level from the Middle Village entry the residences are mostly just one storey above street level, but with the contour of the land have a total height of 22m above and below the cliff edge, with 6m-high ceilings in the living areas.
