Following on from the success of boutique hotel Chalet Ivy Hirafu located near the top of the village’s main street, the company this year opened its second local project in the onsen resort town of Jozankei, between Niseko and Sapporo.
Chalet Ivy Jozankei is an onsen (hot spring) hotel set right on the banks of a stunning river amidst dense forest, which changes colour and character through every season.
Each of the 26 rooms (ranging from 67-137sqm) has its own tenboburo – an onsen bath with a view – and the hotel also has a rotenburo (outdoor onsen) and inhouse spa, Nikur.
Meanwhile, they are planning a third property in the hills just beyond Hanazono, an onsen hotel and possibly residences, which will be called Chalet Ivy Weiss.
The Chalet Ivy brand and projects are the creation of prominent Hong Kong identity Lady Ivy Wu.
