PropertyGuru further invested in Niseko with a visit last month by its Asia Property Awards team to meet local developers, also hosting a networking event at Park Hyatt Niseko.
PropertyGuru is Southeast Asia’s largest online property portal group, and the Asia Property Awards series is the biggest real estate event programme in the Asia Pacific region.
Asia Property Awards General Manager Jules Kay spoke to a gathering of Niseko’s leading development and resort figures about PropertyGuru’s reach in Southeast Asia and how Niseko developers can leverage the Awards platform to penetrate this emerging market for Niseko.
PropertyGuru first invited Niseko to entere the Awards in 2020, putting the resort on the same stage alongside Asia’s premier real estate markets including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, China, India and Australia.
Kay said he was impressed with the quality of developments and the Awards was an opportunity to have them recognised at a regional level.
“The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards aims to showcase and reward the best designs and developments in the Asia Pacific region,” he said.

Kay said Niseko was a unique destination in the region and of interest to investors in PropertyGuru’s core markets.
“Before the pandemic, Niseko attracted significant numbers of visitors and investors from countries across Southeast Asia, notably Singapore and Thailand, where PropertyGuru is a market leader,” Kay said.
“There is therefore a natural connection with Niseko and property buyers, commercial investors and developers located in PropertyGuru’s core markets.
“As Japan opens up to international visitors, we believe Greater Niseko will once again attract a significant number of sophisticated travellers and investors.

About the Asia Property Awards
The Awards are set to represent and accolade Greater Niseko’s exemplary developers and projects across a variety of categories, including Best Developer and Best Hospitality Developer.
Honours are also at stake for hotel condo developments, resort housing projects, resort developments, mixed-use developments, tourism attractions, restaurants, and eco-friendly developments.
Other categories are poised to honour various achievements in architectural design, interior design, and landscape architectural design.
The Awards will be presented in an exclusive, black-tie gala dinner and ceremony alongside the 17th edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final at The Athenee Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok on Friday, 9 December 2022, together with other winners from key property markets including Australia, India, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia.
