Akahane Onsen is a hidden gem. A very rare mud onsen, the mineral water is thick with mud that you can scoop up off the bottom and smear on your arms and face – you can imagine how good this is for your skin. It’s located inside an old mountain hotel, and the onsen baths are beautifully rustic.
