As visitors pour into Niseko for the second season after the Covid era, they have many more dining options.
The Hokkaido Shimbun reports that 60 restaurants across Kutchan and Niseko were certified to open during the last two months of 2023 alone.
Many of the restaurants are extensions of establishments in other parts of Hokkaido as regional restaurateurs see an opportunity to bring their cuisines to a large, diverse audience.
The restaurants range from very high-end course meals to izakayas (Japanese-style pubs with tapas) to a new beef bowl chain Sukiya restaurant in Kutchan Town.
