Niseko Snow Report // 12 February // 2012

By 12th February 2012June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Not the greatest weather day in Niseko with wind in exposed areas and poor visibility limiting access to last night's snow. The wind is already interfering with lift movements and is expected to gain strength through the day.

There should be some good snow to be had in the trees where the added contrast will also help your skiing / boarding. For current lift movements follow this link and click the appropriate area.

Looking ahead, these winds should abate – somewhat – tomorrow and into Tuesday, with clearer skies expected as well. Should be a good week to be in town.

With this weather, backcountry gates over 800m are expected to remain closed today. For further backcountry details check here.

Enjoy, and if you're thinking of having a day off the slopes, Sapporo will be a great day out today with both the Sapporo Snow Festival and the Toyota Big Air happening. There are a number of options for Big Air day trips available – ask your concierge for details – and have a great day whereever you end up!
