Niseko Snow Report // 15 February // 2012

Whew… Glad that's over!

Yesterday's front was always going to push through quickly & be followed by cool temps and snow, but it was so warm it truly felt like Spring. Now we're back where we should be in mid-February, well into the negatives and with lots of fresh pow falling all around.

Today we're expecting snow and wind in exposed areas and at elevation. If you arrived in town yesterday and think you can get away with the same clothes think again. From a max of over 3 degrees yesterday we're looking at temps to hover around – 5 at village level. Dress warm.

By the time this current storm blows itself out in a day or two we'll be left with lots of snow still falling and much calmer winds and this should last across the weekend.

For all your lift operation info, check this link and follow it to your local area. Winds are expected to hamper lifts today though they should ease as the day progresses. If you're looking to head out the back today isn't the best day for it. Snow, limited visibility, and winds will combine for poor riding conditions and the higher gates will be closed. Check the detailed backcountry report here for more.

Have a good day out there – on the hill or off it.
