Niseko Snow Report // 24 December // 2011

By 24th December 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Lots of snow yesterday – the heaviest falls so far this season – but even more wind. This means exposed areas were essentially scoured clean of snow while more protected areas received incredible accumulations. We are expecting more wind today – though hopefully the worst of it has already moved on. There's still lots of snow due today and tonight – perhaps even more than the past 24 hours!

Lifts will have a tough time getting started with all this snow, but we'll see more terrain & lifts open than yesterday. You can check current lift movements here.

Looking ahead, tomorrow should be a great Christmas Day on the slopes, get out and enjoy it before tucking into one of the areas delicious Christmas Dinners. We're still expecting more snow after that but things should be more stable allowing you to really make the most of the fresh…

The backcountry is very dangerous at the moment and no gates are expected to open. Be smart & wait for the snowpack to stabilize. You can check the backcountry report here for more detail.
