Niseko Snow Report // December 03 // 2011

By 3rd December 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Nothing to speak of in terms of overnight snowfall, but if you're just about to land in Hokkaido you've timed it very well!

A solid low pressure system is due to arrive in Niseko mid-afternoon. This will push a wall of warm air in front of it – so we may get some rain at lower elevations – but behind it should be days and days of white & fluffy! In fact, I hope you got your happy snap of Mt Yotei in yesterday's glorious bluebird because we might not see her again for a while… Beside the possible rain, there will be some winds accompanying the low. This has a habit of shutting down more exposed lifts. (But on the other hand it helps fill in those much-anticipated tree runs for us too!) Either way, might be some disruptions to lift operations over coming days.

Given we're now into the second weekend of the season we're also seeing a little more terrain open up. Hirafu's got the King #3 Hooded Triple running, and there are a couple of lower elevation lifts open over at NV (Niseko Village) as well.

In addition to the expanding lift network, everyday we're seeing more and more restaurants and bars open up, there's more old friends and new faces in town, lot's to see, more to do. Enjoy!!
