Niseko Snow Report // 07 January, 2010

By 7th January 2010June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

The story yesterday was the wind, but while it has abated somewhat, it’s still very strong high up.

No fresh snow around but a lot has been picked up by the wind and dropped into the trees – which would still probably be your best bet, along with the leeward side of the hill. The strong winds have left snowbanks of up to a metre plus around in some sheltered areas, along with some unusual snow formations.

With the continued blow I’d say lift movements are going to be limited. Use yesterday as a guide and check here for the most up to date info, but hopefully as the breeze drops away more & higher lifts will open.

We should see the winds die down slowly, then snowfalls return tomorrow in time for a much nicer weekend with gentle breezes and a solid dump, possibly Monday.
