Awayuki (meaning “Bubble Snow”) sits within the Pavilions development, also known as Ginto Village, just off the main road at the East end of Hirafu Village. This is one of the first parts of the Pavilions development to be completed, so expect the neighbourhood to be more lively in years to come.
Awayuki is set up with a handy self-contained layout for both first and second floors, so you can rent these spaces separately or as a whole building. It works for groups of two, four, six or up to eight guests. This two-story chalet has a geometric house-shaped exterior, with a lovely wood finish. Though it looks sleek and sharp on the outside, designers have opted for warm and welcoming on the inside with European chic, designer furniture, carpets and just enough wall art creating a cozy, comfortable space. Plenty of floor-to-ceiling windows showcase Hokkaido’s natural beauty from all angles.
Downstairs is home to a self-contained one-bedroom unit with its own living space and kitchenette. There is also a sizeable ski storage room with heated boot racks, as well as a laundry with washer and dryer. Upstairs, find two additional bedrooms, and a large open-plan living, kitchen and dining area. Each bedroom in Awayuki has its own en-suite bathroom, with a fourth bathroom with toilet to share just off the upstairs living room. There is a fun little outside terrace with garden furniture, yours to enjoy on that occasional bluebird sunny day, as well as an upstairs balcony. All around are natural forests, snowy fields, and several other modern chalets in the Pavilions development.

When you rent Awayuki as a 2-bedroom chalet, you’ll have access to the ground level garage, ski room and laundry, as well as the living and bedroom spaces upstairs. One side of the second floor is an open-plan kitchen/living/dining area with a full kitchen and breakfast bar, dining seating for 8, and access to your own private balcony. The other side of the second floor is taken up by two bedrooms, each sleeping two guests. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms: one with a bath, another with a shower.

You can rent Chalet Awayuki as a full building, combining the downstairs and upstairs units into one full chalet. Six guests can sleep in a total of 3 bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom. Combining both upstairs and downstairs lets you use the upstairs living area for gathering, and the lower living area as a separate media room. The full-feature kitchen, laundry and dry room give you everything you need for an extended, self-contained stay.

Location
SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Chalet Awayuki is located in the Pavilions development, located in the far Eastern end of Hirafu Village. It is a quiet area with plenty of forestland all around, and the Shiribetsu river valley just to the south allowing for clear views of Mt Yotei in the distance. A short 8-minute walk up the street you will find Route 343, the main road that connects Niseko’s four ski resorts.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
A 5-minute drive will take you to the Hirafu Gondola. Property management also offers a ski shuttle service, taking the stress right out of getting to the slopes in the morning. With shuttles nearby you can get around Hirafu without a car, but should you bring one, there is an undercover garage attached to the building and much of Niseko’s best sights and sounds an easy drive away.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
The “lower intersection” marks the traditional end of the Hirafu ski village, in East Hirafu. This intersection is a 10-minute walk from Awayuki. There is a ski shuttle stop and a local bus stop here that’ll help you get to anywhere in Hirafu Village as well as Hanazono and Kutchan Town. There is also a 7-11 convenience store, and a few restaurants that are high on anyone’s must-do list in Niseko: Ichimura Soba and L’ocanda Italian restaurant among them.
