What makes Kuma Cabin so special is its location – it’s perfect for those that want laidback hideaway with easy access to all that Hirafu Village offers. Located on the border of the Lower Village, it has views looking out into the surrounding forest, however it’s just a minute’s walk from the free village shuttle that can take you to all lifts and anywhere else in the entire village within a few minutes. And it’s just an easy flat stroll to half a dozen excellent little bars and restaurants. This is the life!
Kuma Cabin has an open-plan first floor with a new kitchen, large fixed wooden dining table with four stools, and lounge suite with 32-inch wall-mounted TV and Apple TV with Netflix. The cabin is ideally suited for four people, with four beds, four stools at the kitchen bench, and comfortable seating for 4 on the lounge room sofa.
More than 4 adults and it can get a little congested with people moving around in the kitchen and bathroom. But if you’ve got small kids or are with close friends or family and don’t mind living at close quarters, an extra fifth guest can stay on sofa bed or futon mattress than can be laid out on the floor – Japan style!

Location
SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Kuma Cabin is located overlooking the forest in the snowbound lower village. Within a five-minute stroll you have access to a bunch of restaurants and bars tucked away in corners of the Lower Village. It’s a very easy and peaceful area to walk for couples and families.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
The bus stop for the free Hirafu and Hanazono shuttle buses is just 50m or one minute’s walk from the house. The shuttle bus will whip you up to the slopes in about five minutes, depending on how many stops it has to do on the way up. A car-parking space is cleared alongside the house if you plan to rent a car.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
There are a dozen or so excellent restaurants and cool bars in the lower village, and just a few minutes walk up the hill into the middle village and you’ve got a dozen more. The free shuttle runs until 9pm at night so it can also whisk you to any other bar, restaurant or shop in the greater Hirafu area. It’s truly a great little spot.

Stayed here as a group of 5 (2 couples). Really cosy, warm and comfortable! Home had everything we needed. Chika was so sweet and went above and beyond during our stay – nicest and friendliest host ever! A very short walk to the shuttle that would take you to Hirafu gondolas and a longer 10-15 min walk to the niseko united stop that would take you to the other slopes.

Kuma Cabin was perfect for our small family. It has everything you need and is in the best location. Chika went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed, she even drove us to the supermarket to pick up groceries. Niseko got crazy powder every time we were there to really top it off as the perfect trip!

Good quality, affordable cabin in Lower Hirafu with quick, easy access to the resort shuttle each morning. Pictures are accurate, rooms are clean and modern, and the cabin has a cosy, sociable open plan kitchen / living area. Would recommend for groups of max 4 who aren’t fussed about premium accommodation. Worth noting that it’s 1 min walk to the shuttle each morning and you can be at the Gondola within 10 minutes. Kris was extremely helpful in setting us up for a great stay and responsive throughout. Thanks guys – we’ll be back!
Paul Foster –
Nice place. Before I arrived I was worried about the location but it’s 80m from the bus stop. we didnt ever wait long for the bus. The place was clean and spacious enough for a family of 4. It was warm and dry. Short walk to bars and restaurants. Dude picked us up upon arrival from the welcome centre and dropped us off at the end of the trip.

Beautiful house, great location, clean, comfy beds… can’t wait to stay here again! Great experience as everything was nearby, especially Indian food walking distance.

Our stay at Kuma cabin was awesome. A very cozy home, perfect for 4 and looks exactly like the pictures. Location is good and the house is only a min away from the shuttle service and walking distance to many restaurants. Hassle free check-in and pick up from the Hirafu welcome center. Thanks for making our stay a memorable one.

We loved our stay at Kuma Cabin. It was perfect for our family of 4. The location in Lower Hirafu was ideal, close to all the restaurants and bars, 1 min walk from shuttle bus stop and even a fantastic Onsen closeby. The cabin itself was simple , yet cosy and super comfortable with lovely beds and pillows etc. It as well equipped and immaculately clean, Apple TV, fast internet connection. Kris, the owner was super helpful. All in all a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Kuma Cabin! And thanks thanks to Nila at Powderlife for her arrangements!

You ain’t cool unless you stay at Kuma Cabin while in Niseko. The team at Powderlife made our trip so easy and comfortable. The cabin was cozy and roomy enough for my girl and I, plus our other friend to all hang out, keep on top of emails and stream Netflix- with the blazing fast internet – and walking distance to everything you need within the Hirafu area. Walk to ski lifts and crawl home from the adult beverage venues and excellent eateries. Don’t forget to hit up an onsen for the best night sleep and baby soft skin. Anything you need, Powderlife made sure we had access to it. Perfect English spoken by the team so there was zero communication misunderstandings. Can’t wait to come back next year. Thanks, Powerderlife and Ministry of Villas for making this such a memorable experience.

Just return from an amazing trip! This is my first trip to Japan and staying at Kuma Cabin make me feel that I’m at home. I fall in love with this property.
The location is amazing. The property is located close to the shuttle bus waiting point. It also still close to plenty of bars and restaurants.

I have stayed a couple times at Kuma Cabin and really love the homey feeling of this property. The free bus shuttle is located less than 1 minute walking distance from the property which can drive you to the central of town. There are a few bars and restaurants close by which you can enjoy during the stay in Niseko. Will definitely stay here again for my next trip to Niseko!

I love having the opportunity to stay in the properties on Powderlife. I have stayed at Kuma Cabin so many times as I’m in Niseko every March and love the location. Kuma Cabin is perfect for 2 couples or a small group of friends. It has everything you could possibly need while in Hirafu. It’s walking distance to the free shuttle which makes it easy to get around. Or a 10 minute walk up to the town which is filled with great shops, restaurants, bars and endless equipment hire shops ;) Plus there is an amazing onsen right around the corner. The Wi-Fi is super fast and Kuma Cabin has an Apple TV! Each room can be set up as a king bed or two singles beds. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can either cook at home on the gas stove or eat out. Highly recommend a stay here.
