By 4th January 2017Niseko Snow Report

>> Conditions at 820m (Hirafu midway station):

12-hour snow  15 cm (estimated)
Temperature  -9 °C
Wind NNE 10 m/s

>>Conditions observed 7 am at Village level:

12-hour snow  10 cm
Temperature  -6 °C
Wind  NNE 4 m/s

10 cm of new snow has fallen in the last 12 hours. Snow  has stopped falling and I can see the blue sky now.

It snowed finally!! I think mountains have got 15 – 20 cm for last 24 hours. I know everyone is waiting for power, but please don’t get too crazy today, snow is still not enough to cover all items.

Today is *SHOKAN* in Japanese old calendar.  It means “Minor cold” and is the term before the coldest period. Sounds like the real powder season has just started:)

It might snow a bit more tonight and sunny weekend is coming down. Have fun in powder!!
