Niseko Snow Report & Forecast 15 January, 2017

>> Conditions at 820m (Hirafu midway station):

12-hour snow  5 cm (estimated)
Temperature  -9 °C
Wind NW 10 m/s

>>Conditions observed 7 am at Village level:

12-hour snow  2 cm
Temperature  -6 °C
Wind  WNW 3 m/s

A few cm of new snow has fallen in the last 12 hours.

It’s still dark outside as I woke up for Niseko Village early Gondola. It starts from 7:30 and you can take gondola 2 or 3 times for one hour. (Weekend only)

It was a gorgeous day yesterday. I saw lots of lines from the peak under the blue sky. Did you see  *Diamond dust* was sparkling yesterday morning? Diamond dust is a cloud composed of tiny ice crystals that forms near the ground. It can be seen only super cold (under -13°C) and clear day:)

Snow fall is forecast this afternoon. Let’s hope the we get enough snow to cover all tracks from last 2 days.
